General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways of Poland is the central authority of the government administration competent for the issues related to national roads.

Since the Baltic countries and Poland are closely connected with the road corridor Via Baltica and co-operation would promote the development of the road and road traffic sectors in the Eastern Europe, there is a Memorandum of Understanding, signed on February, 2007 by Baltic Road Association and General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways of Poland, that confirms the intention of co-operation. This cooperation covers exchange of information and experience pertaining to the activities in the Baltic and Polish road sectors. Information exchange is arranged through mutual annual meetings of the BRA and General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways of Poland in one of the Baltic States or Poland. On July 2014 the Memorandum of Understanding about ITS was signed.
